Adrian Camara is the co-founder and CEO of Athennian. Since launching the company in 2017, Adrian has led Athennian to rapid growth, building a team of nearly 100 employees globally. Prior to founding Athennian, Adrian practiced law at McCarthy Tétrault LLP, where he specialized in corporate law, governance, and compliance. He holds a BA in History from Glendon College and a JD from the University of Western Ontario.
Mary Ward is the Chief Operating Officer of Athennian, bringing 20 years of experience in building and leading high-performing teams in customer success, professional services, support, marketing, and sales. With deep expertise in creating global customer-centric organizations, Mary has a proven track record of driving revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency through well-defined processes and methodologies.
Throughout her career, Mary has developed and implemented transformative business strategies and operational models, successfully leading change management initiatives across multiple business lines. Her diverse expertise spans integrated services, digital, SaaS, content, and marketing, managing global initiatives for top brands such as General Mills, American Greetings, FedEx, Cisco, Dell, GE, and Microsoft.
Alan Bass is SVP Strategic Initiatives at Athennian. Alan leads our partnership program seeking to enhance our presence globally through affiliations with key organizations in the Global Ops, Private Equity and Legal community. Alan most recently was the CEO of Korbitec Inc, the leading provider of document automation solutions for litigation, resulting in the sale of the company to Dye & Durham where he served as head of Global Partnerships until joining Athennian. Alan is a seasoned tech executive having lead the growth of multiple start-ups globally resulting in two IPO's and two sales. He sits or has sat on a number of boards of both private or charitable organizations.
Asaf Inger is the Senior Vice President of Platform & Delivery, overseeing Engineering and Product Management. With 20 years of experience in the tech industry and over seven years leading engineering teams, Asaf is focused on delivering innovative, scalable platforms that drive product success and customer value.Asaf has a proven track record of driving high-impact product outcomes and shipping successful solutions. He fosters cross-functional collaboration and leverages data-driven insights to guide product development, ensuring that customer needs and product adoption are at the heart of strategic decisions.Asaf’s leadership is centered on building commercially focused solutions that align with business goals, delivering impactful results for both customers and stakeholders.
Sandeep Rishi is the Regional Director of EMEA at Athennian. Sandeep leads development and execution of expansion strategy for Europe, Middle East and Africa, including partner ecosystem and product needs.Sandeep Joined Athennian in 2023 to deliver on commercial & partnership strategy and has since transitioned to his new role as Regional Director of EMEA. Prior to Athennian, Sandeep spent time at EY in the strategy and transaction team before working in software investment banking. After which he moved to the startup world, working in various roles across Finance, Strategy & Operations, and Partnerships, from seed stage through Series C.
Carlos Ramos is a dynamic executive with extensive experience scaling rapidly growing businesses, particularly in the SaaS industry. As Vice President of Revenue at Athennian, he leads strategic initiatives to drive new business and optimize customer growth, satisfaction, and operational efficiency. In previous roles at GoodTime.io, Nowsta, and Rock Content, Carlos led customer success, onboarding, and support teams through significant growth. He is adept at working cross-functionally with executive teams to drive business transformation, aligning operations, product development, and revenue strategies to deliver measurable results. His expertise spans global customer success and revenue leadership, with a focus on scalable processes for product adoption, retention, and expansion.
Stephanie Montelius is a seasoned marketing leader with over 15 years of experience driving growth for fast-scaling B2B SaaS companies. As VP of Marketing at Athennian, she has been instrumental in developing and executing marketing strategies, building high-performing teams, and aligning marketing efforts with overall business objectives through close collaboration with founders and executive leadership.
In her previous role at Rock Content, Stephanie led the marketing team through a successful acquisition, managing team integration and go-to-market strategies. Her expertise spans optimizing customer acquisition, cross-functional collaboration, and driving sustained business growth. Throughout her career, Stephanie has worked with major brands such as FedEx, Adobe, Microsoft, Honeywell, Dell, and many others, helping them achieve key business goals through strategic marketing and digital transformation initiatives.
Roald Harvey is the Senior Director of People at Athennian, where he spearheads the development of a high-performance, remote-first culture. As a seasoned HR leader, he brings a wealth of experience across multiple tech sectors and HR disciplines. Roald’s early career at Rogers Communication Partnership laid a solid foundation in employee relations, human capital analytics, learning and development, organizational strategy, and global innovation.
Matt Stasie is the Director of Strategic Finance at Athennian. Matt joined Athennian in 2024 and leads forecasting and budgeting across the organization. As part of his role, Matt is focused on partnering with department leaders to drive profitable growth and operational improvements. Prior to this, Matt was a finance leader at Cerebral, a mental health startup which raised $300 million in their Series C led by SoftBank. Before starting on the corporate finance track, Matt was engaged in strategy and M&A for a prominent family-run business in Indianapolis and worked as an Investment Associate for a PE fund within Morgan Stanley.
Michael Underwood is a Staff Software Engineer and Athennian's software architect.With a Ph.D. in quantum computing and a strong background in software development, Michael brings a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience to his role. Prior to joining Athennian, he led the development of Asset Management applications in markets from emergency services to Fortune Global 500 companies, and co-founded a data science company that successfully delivered on consulting projects in both the public and private sectors.
Michael's ability to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications makes him a valuable asset to the Athennian team. He is dedicated to creating cutting-edge software that helps organizations streamline their entity management processes.
Mark is the Director of Development and co-founder of Athennian, where he leverages his expertise as an accomplished engineering leader to guide teams in executing the company’s strategic and technical objectives. Prior to co-founding Athennian, Mark spent nine years in various roles within the contract manufacturing and oil & gas sectors, spanning both private and public organizations. This broad background combined with his builder mindset, has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of project management, operational efficiency, and product development.Holding a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Mark has a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, fostering innovation, and encouraging collaboration. Beyond his technical achievements, he is actively involved in community initiatives and serves as a mentor for individuals transitioning into web development. His passion for community engagement, combined with his leadership in software innovation, has left a meaningful and lasting impact in both his industry and the wider community.

Eric Byunn co-founded Centana Growth in 2015 and is one of its Partners. Before founding Centana Growth, Eric spent over 20 years in growth equity and technology. Eric currently serves on the Boards of Athennian, Beacon, Cayosoft, Ease, Jumio, Operto, SheerID, Teikametrics and Vena. He previously led investments in companies including Cloudmark (acquired by Proofpoint), Coremetrics (acquired by IBM), Covario (acquired by Dentsu Aegis Network), GMI (acquired by WPP), KVS (acquired by Veritas), MarketShare Partners (acquired by Neustar), One, Inc. (Acquired by Great Hill Partners), PSS Systems (acquired by IBM), Sentieo (acquired by Alphasense), Sourcecode/K2 (acquired by Francisco Partners), Varicent (acquired by IBM) and Vindicia (acquired by Amdocs). Eric spent 13 years at FTV Capital, a $3.8 billion growth equity fund, where he was a partner, served on the management committee and led investments in enterprise technology.
Patrick Meenan has been a General Partner at Arthur Ventures since 2014. Patrick joined Arthur Ventures from Microsoft’s Mergers & Acquisitions team in Seattle. Prior to Microsoft, Patrick was on the Technology Investment Banking team at Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis with a focus on B2B software companies. Patrick graduated magna cum laude from Miami University with a degree in finance.
Melissa Sonberg has enjoyed almost four decades of international leadership success across a wide range of enterprises, always playing key roles at the heart of transformative change. She has a proven track record working with organizations facing complex, multi-stakeholder, global opportunities to deliver real impact within their industries.Having spent the first phase of her career in healthcare, Melissa’s path pivoted considerably, successfully driving change at Air Canada during a period of multiple transformational phases. At the airline, she held leadership positions in a range of customer-facing, operational, and corporate functions, including leading the organization redesign in the merger between Air Canada and Canadian Airlines.
In 2001, she was named to the founding executive team of Aeroplan, which became known globally as AIMIA (TSX:AIM), and which at the time of her departure was a broadly traded public corporation with market capitalization of approximately $3B (CAD). As a core member of the C-suite, Melissa drove a magnitude of organizational growth and change few leaders experience in a lifetime, including a successful financial and corporate restructuring during a bankruptcy process, leadership of the IPO process (including prospectus author and road-show producer), international M&A, and a multi-year global re-branding.
In 2014, her professional focus shifted to leadership at the board level serving on multiple Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards, including Exchange Income Corporation (TSX:EIF), Hydro One (TSX:H), Enghouse Systems Ltd (TSX:ENG), Athennian, Canada Post Corporation, VIA Rail Canada, Groupe Touchette, MD Financial Holdings and Rideau Recognition Solutions. Within her board mandates, Melissa has provided leadership as Chair of Governance, and Chair of Human Resource & Compensation committees, and as a member of multiple Audit and Finance Committees. Engaging in enterprise challenges ranging from hybrid ownership structures to stewardship of Canadian innovation in global software, aviation/aeronautics, and defense environments, she has been recognized for her ability to deliver customer-focused leadership with skill, empathy, and an unquenchable curiosity about how to make organizations work better.Melissa’s long-standing commitment to positive social impact is evident by engagements as a leader and influencer in multiple community and social enterprise efforts, domestic and around the world. She has served as Chair of the Board of Directors for an internationally renowned NGO, member of the board of an organization driving diversity in Canada’s capital markets, Vice Chair of a national professional association, and as a Professor of Practice and Executive-in-Residence at McGill University’s Desautel Faculty of Management, where she teaches at both the graduate (Masters in Business Administration; Masters in Managing Analytics) and undergraduate levels.
