Typographic Style

After doing some in depth research on various fonts and creating different legibility tests. The two fonts that scored the best where Poppins and Nunito. These sans serif fonts are both part of the Google font catalog of open-source fonts and icons. Therefore making it easy to integrate across various web platforms. Both these fonts are easily accessible for both print and web, both score high in legibility tests, and offer a modern, clean and professional aesthetic Athennian is striving for. For these reasons they are our main brand fonts and our fall back font is Arial. Arial would only be used in the case neither of these fonts are available, specifically in older outdated web browsers.

Poppins

Poppins is our headings font used in contrast with Nunito to add complexity and personality to a design. Poppins is a Geometric sans serif typeface. Each letter-form is nearly monolinear, with optical corrections applied to stroke joints where necessary to maintain an even typographic color.

Nunito

Nuito is our main font used mainly for body copy. Nunito is a smart, stylish and readable font that can be used to create an elegant sans-serif heading. It is a well balanced Sans Serif with rounded terminals. Nunito has been designed mainly to be used as a display font but is usable as a text font too.
